I have the PLK300 powerline network kit. This works great. Then I tried to expand my network and bought the PLTE200 - assuming they would be compatible. They look IDENTICAL so, I assumed there would be backwards compatibility. There isn't. I found this out after 2 hours on tech-support.
Seriously, Linksys, if you are going to make an incompatible product, please:
1. Make them look different.
2. Put labels on the boxes telling you which models it will work with and which ones it will NOT wok with.
I think I probably ate up all the profit you might have made by talking to your tech support. And in the end Im having to return the product.

The Powerline Ethernet Adapter lets you easily create a network using the existing electrical outlets in your home. Now you don't have to drill holes in walls and climb through the attic or cellar to install network cables -- just use the wires that already run through the building. The Powerline Adapter connects computers, or any other wired Ethernet device, using the HomePlug 1.0 with Turbo network standard. It also works with older HomePlug 1.0 devices. Adding a device to the network is as simple as plugging the Powerline Adapter into an electrical outlet, and connecting your Ethernet-equipped device using the included network cable. Additional devices can be connected to the same network using additional Powerline Adapters plugged into any electrical outlet anywhere in the house.
