(More customer reviews)Wow i was shocked when i recieved this unit. I recently purchased a netgear usb wireless unit to catch further signals and more quality.i paid over $70 for it. I plugged it in, and it actually worked WORSE then the built in one. I was very hesitant to purchase this Alfa 1000mw but im glad i did. Small size, good directional antenna plus a good omni was not what i was expecting. I live in the country and with my laptop standing outside i would only see 1 open wifi access point. I plugged this alfa in and BAM! i got 4-5new ones. Once i screwed in the directional gain antenna, i got up to 10 open connections !keep in mind i live in the country and every home is more then 500ft away from me. the furthest signal i caught was a 1 bar connection but that house was around 1mile away.
This item is ENTIRELY worth its price. I'm not fully sure if the 2000mw is better,but this one is enough for me. Cons: Could use better suction cup to keep it on the laptop but thats not a big deal.
